While Pudlalik Shaa carves a range of subjects including bears (see Lot 37), transformations, walruses, musk oxen and drum dancers, his birds are always a delight to behold. Fine, sharp features emerge from the stone under his hands, and Marching Goose is no exception. There is a beautiful, transparent air to the thinner parts of the stone, adding a touch of elegance to the more silly form of this Goose.
