Rendered in a smooth, high-polish stone that accentuates their rounded volumes and gentle curves, this pair of seals comes from the early period of art-making in Kimmirut (Lake Harbour). Their compact bodies are nearly symmetrical, with minimal surface detail, just incised lines for whiskers and flippers, allowing the soft sheen of the stone to take centre stage.
