Colour carries much of the effect in Pitsuilaat (Sea Ducks). Pared down in its imagery, we encounter four avian forms in a striking cherry red. Their positions are carefully varied: one bird faces forward, another extends horizontally, while the others lift their heads as if mid-call. This creates a rhythm of movement without overcrowding the page, giving the scene balance and clarity.

Sheojuke was among those invited to experiment with drawing during the formative years of the Cape Dorset graphics program, when her family was living at the outpost camp with Tikitu and Lucy Qinnuayuak. In that context, she encountered for the first time the novelty of drawing paper and witnessed the early recognition it brought to several artists. Yet she herself did not emerge as a prolific contributor in the 1960s. Her first print appeared in the 1966 Cape Dorset annual collection but another would not be issued until thirty-four years later.
