Martha Ittuluka’naaq’s art reveals how much can be said with the fewest possible marks. Her radical economy of line became a language of its own, immediately identifiable and deeply expressive. In both her drawings and the eight prints she produced, she pared each form down to its essential shape, often tracing outlines from small cardboard cutouts she made herself. Drum demonstrate the brilliance of this method.
