RESHOOT
Knowing that Qarliksaq had only reluctantly moved off the land and into Qamani’tuaq a few years earlier, Men Jigging for Fish reads as a beautiful and plainspoken tribute to a practice he likely held onto for as long as he could. Small details are picked out in bright red ink, from coat hems to a knife handle and a single fish set apart from the larger catch, a crisp counterpoint to the black outlines of the figures and dog, who waits patiently for a share of the morning’s work.
