Reportedly the last print made before the artist's death in 2010, Evening Shadow splendidly encapsulates what Ingo Hessel described as the artist's unique ability to depict Arctic animals. Hessel commented, "You could tell how much he understood animal behaviour. [...] It wasn’t simply the details, but the spirit and intelligence of the animals in his drawings. You feel like the subjects are looking you, as much as you’re looking at them" [1].
