Pudlo Pudlat’s canon of work has delighted and intrigued collectors for decades, whether they featured whimsical animals and birds, or documented the encroaching changes to the “urban landscape” of the artist’s home. Many will point to Pudlat’s frequent use of transportation methods, both new and old, as another favoured subject matter, further explored by Pudlat in some of his more hybrid transportation vehicles like boats that transform into birds. While a char may not be as motorized as a boat or plane, this owl has decided it’s as good as any other method and rides atop it. Despite the glaring size difference, this owl seems content with taking a break from flying and keeps a firm grip on his steed of choice.
