When working with a pliable substance like clay, Kavik adhered to the raw, "primal" aesthetic evident in his hard stone creations. His distinctive style was not confined by the challenges of carving hard materials with basic tools, but rather stemmed from his innovative and imaginative mind. Like many of Kavik's ceramics, this piece is unglazed. Intriguingly, this sculpture is more substantial in volume compared to his stone works and commands a strong presence. The slightly bewildered facial expressions, especially that of the curious child, are particularly captivating.
