Well known and rightly praised for his career as a print artist, Mungitok Kellypalik also carved the local Kinngait stone to charming effect. Examples of his carved work have a similar fluid air to them as his printwork, but with a nod to the more solid nature of the stone they are made from. Standing Polar Bear is both firm and swaying at the same time, solid on his back feet and a slight lean to his stance. Depending on your preference, this bear could be looking around a corner, or leaning back in surprise!
