The Spirit Within was one of Pudlo Pudlat's last prints during his lifetime, coupled somewhat prophetically with The Last Hunt and Final Journey in the 1993 Annual Print Collection. The Spirit Within is a beautifully simple print; the tones of a printed colour on a grey paper harkens to earlier days of Pudlo's contributions to the collection. The figure, dancing with a cluster of faces around it, has a level of joy and movement we have come to love and expect from Pudlo's work.
