Something of a child prodigy, at the tender age of 17, Randy Trudeau was featured in an article in the North Bay Nugget (22 May 1982, p. 5). The article shares that Trudeau was encouraged to create art by his uncle, James Simon. In 2004, he donated one of his works to the then newly renovated Wikwemikong Public Library. While his artistic output flourished in the 1980s, today, Trudeau remains committed to the betterment of his community. In 2021, he hosted the workshop "Healing Aspects of the Land: Shkagamik Kwe Nandwegonah" with Marion Maar at the World Indigenous Suicide Prevention Conference.
