In this print, two birds, rendered in the confident, textural lines of stonecut, face one another with a kind of choreographed steadiness. Their forms are sturdy, balanced, and sure. Around them, the stenciled backdrop blooms in a wash of colour that refuses to stay still. Mossy greens and orange-reds mix with patches of blue, coalescing like tundra vegetation just beginning to wake. It is not just a setting but a presence, soft-edged and alive. The contrast between the grounded figures and the atmospheric field is striking. One is all clarity and precision; the other is all possibility. Together, they create something radiant.
