While seemingly not a prolific artist, Kudlu produced some very interesting works of sculpture and jewelry. We would date this piece to perhaps the latter part of the 1960’s based on both disc number signature and stylistic grounds. This sculpture is very compelling in that it seems an interesting fusion of the flatness of fellow Kuujjuarapik sculptors like Annie Niviaxie (see First Arts, December 4, 2023, lot #9) and the corpulence more common to artists from Inukjuak.
