During her too short career, Lucy produced several thousand drawings, 164 of which were released as prints between 1961 and the year of her death (although there have been several posthumous releases). While her best-known image is her iconic Large Bear from 1961, the lion's share of her graphics are decidedly more avian in subject. This wonderful graphic, also from the 1961 collection, introduces us to Lucy’s magnificent birds. We love the symmetry of the two central birds fighting over a fish while being closely observed by an owl in flight and a remarkably attired Inuk.
