Justifiably famous for his stunning depictions of swimming loons, Sheokjuk also produced a wide variety of subjects during his long yet all too short career (he was only 62 years old when he passed away). His early ivory sculptures of people and qajaq scenes are a joy to behold. He also had a mastery of all the denizens of the animal kingdom. Apart from the gorgeous stone, we love how this charming bunny is simultaneously at rest yet seemingly alert and ready for flight should his ears alert him to the slightest sound of approaching danger.
