This intricately carved alder wood mask features carefully sculpted facial features, with soft curves in the cheeks and an elongated nose that lend it a serene yet expressive quality. Human hair adorns the upper rim, adding a dynamic, organic element. The fine brushwork on the proper left side, particularly around the eye and cheek, is meticulously executed, with sharp, clean lines of black paint forming an abstract design that contrasts beautifully with the smooth, natural wood surface, showcasing the artist's steady hand. An inlaid abalone labret provides a striking focal point at the mouth, reflecting light and offering a natural iridescence that enhances the mask’s visual impact against the matte wood tones.
