The Tree of Life, a motif Morrisseau frequently explored, embodies the interconnectedness of all living beings—a fundamental principle of Anishinaabe spirituality. This work continues that tradition, celebrating the profound unity between the natural world and its creatures.

Here, a dynamic matrix of flowing branches and floral elements spreads across the canvas, the tree's organic forms alive with concentric patterns in vibrant colours. These pulsating shapes seem to breathe energy into the composition, while the branching lines act as conduits, connecting every element. Within this network, familiar motifs emerge: a bear’s head anchors the lower left. Above it, the silhouette of a fish begins to take shape. Scattered throughout the branches, numerous birds in profile further populate this thriving visual ecosystem.
