The 1995 Cape Dorset annual graphics collection saw the return of the etching technique to Kinngait under the guidance of Paul Machnik of Studio PM in Montreal. The etching plates were worked by the artists in Kinngait and the prints were editioned in Montreal. This inaugural year produced some of the finest works in the medium including Kenojuak Ashevak’s “Ravens Gather”, Sheojuk Etidlooie’s Bear’s Head, and our personal favourite, the stunningly beautiful Spring Caribou.
