Although the identity of this maker is not known at this time, they had a distinctive style and were active in the first quarter of the 20th century, often carving model poles for Ye Olde Curiosity Shop and other stores in the Puget Sound region. That local specificity and the lack of more northern influences in the sculpture and painting of these poles point to a probable Puget Sound Coast Salish origin for this artist.Provenance
