Jamasee was born in 1968 and grew up in a vastly different world than his parents or grandparents. His landscape was not dotted by dog sleds and dog teams but...Jamasee was born in 1968 and grew up in a vastly different world than his parents or grandparents. His landscape was not dotted by dog sleds and dog teams but rather by trucks and all terrain vehicles. How refreshing, therefore, that Jamasee prefers to make art which refers to the contemporary world rather than trying to imagine the past. Jamasee’s fanciful pieces are often elaborate constructions comprising a multitude of individually carved elements. We are always impressed by Jamasee’s combination of technical skill and a wonderfully dry sense of humour.Provenance
