ESTIMATE: $300 — $400

This delightful small sculpture was made by one of the relatively few female carvers in Kangiqtugaapik, active but not prolific in the late 1960s and 1970s. Her best-known work is an animal/human transformation piece, Animal-Man from 1970, in the collection of the Winnipeg Art Gallery (see Jean Blodgett, The Coming and Going of the Shaman, 1978, cat. 71 and elsewhere).
