First Arts has had the privilege of handling a number of Nalenik Tamela’s large-scale works over the years, each one a commanding presence that never fails to impress. How delightful, then, to encounter this small and early work, a carving that reminds us talent is not measured in size. Even here, in a more intimate scale, the artist's hand reveals the same confidence and sensitivity that would later define his monumental carvings. It is a quiet testament to the consistency of his vision and the breadth of his skill. Lovely!
