This Tsimshian pole features an Eagle with spread wings, a Raven or Heron, and a Bear on a chamfered base. The pole is painted in customary black, red, and blue/green colours. The carving and painting style of the pole suggest that it was made in the late 1950s or early 1960s, reflecting the aesthetic of the era that minimized carving and emphasized painting to delineate form. The pole is signed by the artist and identified as being from Port Simpson, BC, aligning it with similar model poles from the region (including from Port Essington, BC) that were sold through the Totem Pole Gift Shop, a historic curio shop in Port Simpson.
