Fanny Arngnakik’s artist output is rare, her works appear infrequently on the market and she contributed only four prints, the last in 1971. She was married to Barnabus Arnasungaaq, and her mother Martha Ittuluka’naaq, her brothers Mathew Aqigaaq and David Ikutaaq, and her sister Ada Eyetoaq were artists as well.
In this work, a small figure steps forward in a buoyant stride. One arm set akimbo forms a clean triangle against his well rounded torso. His face carries a carved, charming smile and bright eyes, and he looks pleased to be setting out on his travels.
