This engaging group of small ivory objects brings together the practical and figurative sides of Inuit carving. The lot comprises two miniature figures, a bird-form fishing lure with inset eye and attached weight, and a harpoon line toggle. Small in scale but distinctly worked, each object carries its own sense of shape, surface, and character. Together they show how readily ivory carving could move between implement and image, utility and invention, within a long and highly developed carving tradition.
