Nestled in Manitoulin Island, it is little wonder that local artists and makers could be inspired to create beautiful objects such as the present quill box. Its lid topped with a simple yet striking five pointed star in purple, the box's body features a repeated banded design in both white and purple. Brilliantly white, there is just the barest hint of the darker shades of the quills that have been used in the star to create depth in the design, while the purple hue shine from the box. The work as a whole is a thing to behold.
