In this work, a tightly balanced arrangement of mirrored birds creates an almost emblematic composition. Broad black forms anchor the image, while olive green, yellow and rust-red passages enliven the paired central birds. Fine incised markings break up the larger colour fields, adding texture to an otherwise strongly simplified, symmetrical design. Lovely.
