Ruffled Feathers is a delight to the eye. Teetering at the edge of abstraction, Teevee's composition invites the eye to wander through a spirited tangle of feathers, faces, and unexpected forms. In the upper left, the familiar face of an owl, a recurring presence in Teevee’s work, surveys the scene like a maestro presiding over an unruly orchestra. Below, a foot emerges from the flurry of plumage, followed by a face, possibly that of Sedna, distinguished by the delicate markings of tunniit (Inuit facial tattoos). Rendered almost entirely in black and white, the drawing is enlivened by small flashes of colour in the eyes of the owl and the mysterious figure below. These few coloured accents stand out against the dense interplay of ink and paper, drawing the eye deeper into Teevee's wonderfully inventive world of feathers and forms.
