unsigned;
from the edition of 200;

ESTIMATE: $2,000 — $3,000
One of Robert Davidson's earliest forays into editioned printmaking came during a six-month stint teaching at the Gitanmaax School of Northwest Coast Indian Arts at 'Ksan in 1968. The years that followed brought forth a wealth of printed works and exhibitions to showcase them, including his 1978 solo exhibition at the Bent Box Gallery in Vancouver. A set of banners was printed and installed throughout the city to promote and celebrate the exhibition. The bared teeth and claws of this Grizzly Bear, paired with the near-monumental size of the banner, make for an imposing figure. The work is classic in its lines and design while feeling fresh, as Davidson's hand shows its personal touch and taste.
