This loon sculpture by renowned artist Osuitok Ipeelee captures the distinctive beauty and graceful presence of Canada's most iconic bird. Carved from rich, dark brown stone threaded with natural veins, the loon showcases Ipeelee's remarkable sensitivity to both material and form. Its slender neck and elongated, pointed beak possess a striking elegance, their delicate proportions a testament to the artist's exceptional technical skill. Equally delightful are Ipeelee's signature eyes, each formed by a perfectly incised circle with a dotted pupil. These charming details lend the sculpture a touch of personality, bringing this elegant bird to life.
