An adaptable animal, frogs are seen as living in two worlds, both the water and the land, and can communicate between the two as vocal beings. They are also considered a supernatural creature, one that can inhabit the human and spirit worlds. Their presence (often a loud one) is thought to announce the arrival of spring, as they can be heard and seen as the waters and forests sufficiently thaw out after a long winter. Here, we see the frog with a hint to his many voices as faces emerge from the frog’s busy, his front legs dipping into the waterline that separates his two homes.
