    This Mother and Child is another astonishingly fine sculpture. Probably also dating from the same period of the late 1950s or early 1960s, it must surely be the work of an accomplished sculptor and not a talented beginner. In stark contrast to the previous lot, where the figure looks like a warrior-mother girded for battle, this beautiful sculpture speaks of roundness and fullness and well-being. It is classic and superb.
