Inked in the iridescent blue by Iyola Kingwatsiak — one of the foremost stencil printers of this early period of graphic production in Kinngait (see also lot 33, Bird in Blue and 36, Rabbit Eating Seaweed) — there is no attempt to present interior modeling. Their resemblance, however, is still unmistakable. And, in its own way, the varied tones and textures of the stencil medium reveal an intuitive sensitivity to Parr’s powerful graphite lines.
