This elegant spoon is the late Derek Wilson’s interpretation of 19th century mixed media horn spoons that combine the classic carved goat horn handle with a hand engraved silver bowl....This elegant spoon is the late Derek Wilson’s interpretation of 19th century mixed media horn spoons that combine the classic carved goat horn handle with a hand engraved silver bowl. Taken as a whole composition, the spoon may depict a Sea Bear, with the upper half of the creature’s bear-like head and dorsal fin carved in horn, while the two-dimensional tail is engraved in the silver bowl. The tail also frames the face of an anthropomorphic killer whale woman with labret.
