Known for her use of vibrant colour and exaggerated shapes, Kelly’s all too short career was nonetheless a significant contribution to the Cape Dorset annual print collections. Her image Hoot was the cover image of the 2006 print catalogue. This wonderful etching and aquatint employs a much warmer colour palette than usual, and to great effect. The warm colours seemingly indicate life as well as the life-giving nature of the caribou as a major food source for the Inuit.Provenance
