The simplicity of this work...When Parr began drawing in late 1961 after moving to a settlement, he always had a strong attachment to his memories of a traditional lifestyle. The simplicity of this work is twofold, a scene of a dog team hauling past a walrus, and the monotone, gestural lines we have come to expect from Parr's work, and yet there is a sense of movement across the paper. The petite size of the work makes for a charming image all round.
