This four-figure model pole features a heron, frog, and strong man figure rending a highly stylized sea lion in half. Although this pole is carved in a very similar fashion to Tlingit artist James Rudolph, there are some important stylistic differences in the details of the heron’s wings, the shape of the strong man’s nose and mouth, and the positioning of the frog. That said, this is a very well-carved pole that is a fine example of 1920s Tlingit sculpture.
