A quiet meditation on the beauty of the Canadian Arctic, Kananginak depicts the silhouettes of five figures in motorsailer, with the vessel's ketch-rigged sails inked in a flaxen colour, floating on the placid surface of a body of water. The scene is reflected, creating a mirror image that is virtually identical save printmaker Pitseolak Niviaqsi's effort to accurately mute the colours of the janus image. With its warm, golden tone, the work captures the grandeur of the Arctic landscape.
