In the introduction to the 1987 Annual Print Collection catalogue, Terry Ryan pens a tribute of sorts to the older generation of artists featured that year, Pudlo Pudlat amongst them. "Among the members of this generation still active in the graphic arts in Cape Dorset are those who choose to depict another time and another place. This is an art based on memories, one full of activities and images no longer prevalent in the modern period, one represented by dog teams, kayaks and umiaks, fish weirs, and the whale hunt."
