Ada Eyetoaq began carving in the early 1970s. She rapidly became one of Qamani'tuaq's most respected female carvers and has been included in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Although she has explored several other artistic mediums, Eyetoaq’s stone depictions of the human form are among her most celebrated works. This image of a human figure seated alongside a large fish and bird is probably best understood metaphorically rather than literally. It’s an excellent and charming example of the artist’s oeuvre and like many of her best sculptures fits comfortably in the palm of your hand.
