Her work always has a fine sense of design and composition, which is beautifully exemplified in Nuliajuq's Fate. After being thrown overboard by her father to lighten the load on their boat during a storm, her father then cuts off her fingers and hands as she clings to the edge of their boat. The girl then sinks to the bottom of the ocean with blood spewing from her hands. As she sinks, she becomes a half-human, half-fish sea goddess, with blue scales beginning to creep down her legs.
