While he carved some magnificent bears, Tudlik is best known for his depictions of birds, with owls being his primary focus. Much like the owls of his contemporary from Puvirnituq Joe Talirunili, Tudlik owls are instantly recognizable, with no two being exactly alike. This example is amongst the best we have seen by the artist. Carved from a beautiful serpentine stone, this small but proudly confident Owl combines sculptural presence with personality and charm.
