    Where in other parts of Kiviuq's long story there are instances of fish assisting the wandering hero, this work may point to another, more sinister foe. Having just wrestled with the giant watery beast, Kiviuq is able to snag it on his line, trapping it and overcoming the enormous odds against him in the fight. Given the scale of the head that Kiviuq has pulled from the water, we can only imagine the full fish!
