This race supports fundraising for local hospital charities and Susan Point supported the event with a logo and fundraising for over a decade. Susan Point would often produce a limited edition print of the same design for sale, promotion and further fund raising.
“This image, as all images that I have made for the Pacific Spirit Run,” directly relates to the area where the run takes place. It represents tree frogs, which are abundant in the UBC Endowment Lands. Frogs are significant for the Coast Salish people. They relate to the season of spiritual dancing in our longhouse during the winter months. The design also portrays coming together. Although at first glance, the design may appear to be a repeat design there are subtle differences within each frog, just as there are cultural differences among those who participate in the annual run.”
