A lone figure waits with a line and hook while a single fish is artistically captured with mouth open wide and about to take the bait. In Tuu'luq / Anguhadluq: An Exhibition of Works by Marion Tuu'luq and Luke Anguhadluq of Baker Lake, Jean Blodgett describes fishing as one of Luke’s favoured themes, as it represented "activities from his life on the land" (WAG, 1976, unpaginated). Blodgett continues that Luke's scenes are general, rather than specific. As such, this scene could be a commemoration of a successful spring fishing trip, or perhaps a wishfully successful one.
