“In Shuvinai’s compositions however, her world(s) never collide - they touch, they eclipse, and sometimes they simply and elegantly float in perfect harmony with each other, but always in sensitivity to nature.” [1]

Made in 2011, World View was one of the first of many works by Shuvinai Ashoona to feature Earth, and earth-like planets. Here, our own earth is surrounded and orbited by many more “earths,” their accuracy to our own world not being a main focus over appearing ‘earthlike.’ A technically challenging lithograph, the work was expertly printed by Niviaksie Quvianaqtuliaq, a skilled printer of many complex, contemporary works from the Annual Collection.
