Kulula emerged as a first-rate artist by the...Kulula is the son of the late Davidee Itulu who, while famous as a scrimshaw artist, was also a tremendously gifted sculptor. Kulula emerged as a first-rate artist by the early 1990’s and while better known for his “ferocious” bears excelled at carvings of sea mammals, particularly walrus and narwhals. We love how he has portrayed this huge beast in such a delicate pose.Provenance
