Ohotaq's early contributions to the Kinngait graphic catalogs were sparse, as he largely stepped away from his artistic pursuits in the early 1960s. Upon retiring, however, Ohotaq rekindled his passion for art, drawing once more and embarking on a lauded second act in his artistic career. Among the creations of this renaissance is the present print, Totem of Owls, which captivates the viewer with its vivid colour scheme and methodical composition. The owls are stacked in a symmetrical totemic column, each adorned with wings of a bold colour — green, red, and blue — that lends them distinct character while preserving the composition’s harmony.
