This particular chunk of stone must have been quite difficult to carve, but its colour and texture suit Pauta’s style and subject matter perfectly. Dancing Bear is a truly extraordinary sculpture: powerful and raw yet beautifully balanced and almost delicate in its pose. We also love the matte finish which further accentuates the sense of rugged “bearness.” Remarkable.
