Released in 2002, Proud Walrus is a delightful and powerful print that would have seamlessly blended with the artist’s other offerings from the 1963 collection, particularly reminiscent of the charming Running Rabbit from that same year. Printed in a deep, bold navy, this walrus stands tall, meeting the viewer's gaze. Its tusks almost shine out from the ink, reminding us that despite Pudlo's playful depiction of creatures, they remain wild animals.
